Rhododendron aureum is identified as a vulnerable species in China. The establishment of an vitro regeneration system assists significantly protection. Here, was developed using both direct and indirect organogenesis pathways. role thidiazuron (TDZ) different developmental stages also investigated. leaves wild-harvested R. plants were used for callus induction after hydroponic cultivation. optimal formula found to be woody plant basal medium (WPM) supplemented with 0.5 mg·L−1 TDZ 3-indolebutyric acid (IBA), while the subculture adventitious buds WPM containing 0.1 IBA. from tissue-cultured seedlings then bud clusters. An association observed between differentiation clusters ratio auxin cytokinin. IBA, yielding 50% rate maximum number buds. Higher concentrations beneficial proliferation, lower concentration conducive stem elongation. that elongation 0.002 Only IBA necessary rooting, increased leading roots earlier root formation, larger areas; thus, 1.0 rooting aureum. After hardening two days, substrate composed vermiculite peat soil 10:1 transplantation formula. This provides directions protection endangered promotion industrial development.
